GEMMY RHODONITE CRYSTALS
Australian Minerals, Crystals, Gem Crystals, Metal Specimens, Minerals of the World, Top ShelfGEMMY RHODONITE CRYSTALS
A superb specimen of Gemmy Rhodonite Crystals in Galena. A cluster of chunky, red translucent crystals on matrix. This specimen in particular shows amazing crystal colour and shape and will make a worthy addition to any collection. Two main crystals one atop the other nested in Truncated Galena from Broken Hill.
Location:
Broken Hill, NSWDimensions:
3.7cm x 2.5cm x 2.2cm, 34g.Rhodonite: MnSiO3
Named in 1819 by Christoph Friedrich Jasche from the Greek rhodos or “rose”, referring to its colour.
Galena: PbS
Galena is the primary ore mineral of lead. Worked for its lead content as early as 3000 BC, it is found in ore veins with sphalerite, pyrite, chalcopyrite, tennantite-tetrahedrite, etc. and in skarns, as well as in sedimentary rocks where it may replace carbonate beds or be deposited in pore spaces.

WILLEMITE FLUORESCENT SLAB 07
Fluorescent Specimens, Metal Specimens, Minerals of the World, Rock 'n Slabs, Slabs, Top ShelfWILLEMITE FLUORESCENT SLAB 07
A stunning specimen of Willemite Fluorescent Slab 07 showing off the brightest fluorescence of all natural minerals Willemite. This rare special specimen is short and long wave fluorescent. The dark grey metal shown in the natural light photos is Zinc ore Franklinite. The white mineral is Mangano Calcite, shows as Pink with UVA Long Wave and Orange with UVC Short Wave. The Willemite is Bright Mesmerising Green under both fluorescent wave lengths. Pics taken with shortwave, longwave, and sunlight. Very cool stuff and this is one of my very favorite rocks. This is a small high quality specimen with bright fluorescence at a bargain price. The Slab is intended as a specimen and may have natural fractures which may not make it suitable for Lapidary work.
To view this spectacular specimen’s fluorescent colours you will need a UVC Shortwave Lamp and UVA Longwave Lamp. Make sure you wear safety glasses. Willemite Franklinite Calcite is also known as the Christmas Tree Rock for the colours Green and Red. This is a quality collectable specimen with wow factor.

PYRITE SPHERE 2
A very cool polished Pyrite Sphere 2. Natural crevices in the rock are visible within the sphere, giving glimpses of perfect little cubes inside. Pyrite is one of the most popular minerals out and this is an unusual sphere to find. Hematite Ring Stand included. Treat yourself or someone like you! Comes with a low profile hematite ring stand. Check out the stunning pics of this individual sphere on this page.

HUEBNERITE QUARTZ CRYSTALS
Great looking Metal Specimen of Huebnerite Quartz Crystals, showing amazing crystal formations protruding out of the interlacing quartz matrix. Slight translucency on edges of Huebnerite crystals with some minimal yellow sulfur coloured oxide on surfaces or protected crevices and in the Quartz. This is a very collectable piece. Huebnerite is an ore of Tungsten. Tungsten is used to make fake Gold bars. That is because Tungsten has the same specific gravity as gold does. The best way to test for this type of fakery is to drill a very small hole in the bar.

CLEIOPHANE GALENA CRYSTALS
A stunning Cleiophane Galena Crystal Specimen on a Quartz matrix. Featuring many well formed crystals of Cleiophane – some on twinned Octocube Galena crystal forms. A sprinkling of micro Chalcopyrite is noticeable. Cleiophane is the gemmy or purer version of Sphalerite, sought after for its rarity and beauty. An outstanding addition to the metals cabinet for a serious collector. A real wow piece, my photos don’t do it justice. Not common Cleiophane or twinned Octocube Galena to come by and at a bargain price. The location is also classic of where some of the best Sphalerite, Galena and Quartz specimens are from. Almost forgot to mention some amazing Mangano Calcite comes from here too.

PYRRHOTITE OLD STOCK
An amazing mineral Pyrrhotite Old Stock! A collection-worthy piece. This specimen displays a crystal of Pyrrhotite and is from old stock. Pyrrhotite crystals are rare and hard to come by. A single partial crystal with laminated structure, minor surface Pyrite and some Calcite. An interesting difference between Pyrite and Pyrrhotite is a magnet will stick to Pyrrhotite but not to Pyrite. Please read the interesting details below about weakly magnetic and two minerals in one.

SPARKLING PYRITE CRYSTALS
Beautifully simple Sparkling Pyrite Crystals with very reflective faces. Great addition for mineral, metals or pyrite collections. The mineral pyrite, or iron pyrite, also known as fool’s gold, is an iron sulfide which has the chemical formula FeS2. This mineral’s metallic luster and brass yellow hue give it a superficial resemblance to gold, hence the well-known nickname of fool’s gold. Interestingly Pyrite does not attract a magnet. This specimen comes from a premier location and sports a mini cave cavity right through.

CARROLLITE
A top rare Carrollite metal specimen to add to your collection. Stunning bright crystal surfaces with sharp edges. Great size on a Calcite matrix with associated mineral like golden and rainbow Chalcopyrite and others. A well formed large, Octahedral Carrollite crystal is perched prominently on the matrix of this specimen. Check out the video of this specimen on this page.
Dimensions:
9.9cm x 6.1cm x 4.3cm, 308g.
Crystal 14.5mm x 16mm.Location:
D.R. Congo, Africa.Carrollite was discovered in Carroll County, Maryland, and recognized as a mineral species in 1852. It is named for Carroll County. Carrollite is collected for its mineralogical rarity, rarity of sizeable crystals, unusual chemical composition as one of the relatively few cobalt-bearing minerals, high degree of cubic-crystal development, and associations in composite specimens with such minerals as quartz and calcite.

PINK BUSTAMITE SPECIMEN
A notably Pink Bustamite Specimen! This piece is solid Bustamite showing crystals faces in places with Galena crystals and Sphalerite throughout. A very interesting rock you could inspect for hours. Bustamite is rarer than the Rhodonite often found with Galena from this location. The colour and shape of the crystals in this matrix are also above average. This is a great overall example of Broken Hill minerals to add to your Australian mineral collection.

GALENA SPECIMEN
An outstanding Galena Specimen to grace your collection. This is an awesome crystal of Galena, a mineral we collect personally and one with a range of great associations. This piece has amazing luster and crystal shape. It was hard taking the photos with so much reflection, this piece looks better in person. On the front face there is a rose-like formation of Sphalerite crystals.
