JADE TEA SET HAND CARVED
A beautiful handmade Jade Tea Set Hand Carved from Myanmar (Burmese Jadeite). This is where the best Jadeite Jade in the world comes from. Coloured green to white and slightly translucent. My photos do no justice for this Tea Set and the colour looks much better in life. The detail and high quality polished finish is what adds value to this hand carved Jade. Tea Pot comes with five traditional cups presented on a beautiful Jade plate for serving. The polish on this set is outstanding. This exquisite Tea Set would be used for traditional ceremonial purposes or a collection specimen for investment.

AUSSIE JADE OFF CUTS 2
A parcel over half a kg of Aussie Jade Off Cuts in green to black. They sound amazing mate – you know the ting sound when they jingle about in the bag. Seriously this is some of the best carving rough offered. I’m told by the owner, left overs and off cuts too good to throw away, from an old Maori carver who worked at the Cowell mine years ago. Great for the lapidarist or carver after rare Australian Nephrite Jade. Most of these pieces have at least one straight edge and all are ready to start working your magic on. I have taken photos of the jade both dry and wet to give an idea of colour. It looks better in person than the pics show. All the Jade is from Cowell in South Australia. If you are after a larger rock see our Rock n Slabs section.

TOP CERUSSITE BROKEN HILL
A Top Cerussite Broken Hill specimen. Rare to find treasure like this from old collections. Orthorhombic crystal system, classic reticulated formations also called Jackstraw. Collected around 1920.
Location:
South Mine, Broken Hill, NSW, Australia.Dimensions:
5.1cm x 4.1cm x 2.8cm, 72g.PbCO3:
Lead Carbonate.Cerussite is a popular collection mineral. It is famous for its great sparkle, great density and amazing twinned crystals. Cerussite is a minor ore of lead. It has a very high luster due mostly to the lead content. Just as leaded crystal glass sparkles more brilliantly because of its lead content, so too does Cerussite. The lead raises the index or refraction of Cerussite to just over 2.07. Lead is also responsible for its increased specific gravity. Cerussite has one of the highest densities for a transparent mineral. It is over six and a half times as dense as water. Most rocks and minerals average only around three times the density of water.

CUPRITE MALACHITE CHRYSOCOLLA
A Cuprite Malachite Chrysocolla specimen for the avid Aussie collector. Stunning colour contrast with deep red from the Cuprite, bright blue from Chrysocolla and Green Malachite. Rare and full of character, this is a great Aussie classic for your collection. Very interesting under magnification – I can see sparkly gold and silver coloured metals and crevices of botryoidal Chrysocolla. Some micro crystalisation of Cuprite can be viewed in good sunlight. Check out the pics.
Location:
Degrussa Cu Mine, Doolgunna Station, Meekatharra Station, Australia.Dimensions:
7.1cm x 5.4cm x 5.1cm, 171g.Cuprite:
Cu2OIt is often associated with Native Copper, Malachite, Azurite, Limonite and Chalocite.
Of all the copper ores except for native copper, Cuprite gives the greatest yield of copper per molecule since there is only one oxygen atom to every two copper atoms. As a mineral specimen, Cuprite shows fine examples of well-developed cubic crystal forms. Cuprite’s dark crystals show internal reflections of the true deep red inside the almost black crystal. Other varieties, such as chalcotrichite, show tufts of needle-like crystals that have a beautiful red color and a special sparkle that make them popular display cabinet specimens.
Named in 1845 by Wilhelm Karl von Haidinger from the Latin “cuprum,” in allusion to its composition.Check out more interesting Metal Specimens for sale here
Malachite:
Cu2(CO3)(OH)2Named in antiquity by Pliny the Elder 79 CE molochitus after the Greek mallows in allusion to the green color of the leaves. Known in the new spelling, malachites, at least by 1661.
Malachite is a green and common secondary copper mineral with widely variable habit. Typically found as crystalline aggregates or crusts, often banded in appearance like agates. It is also often found as botryoidal clusters of radiating crystals, and as mammillary aggregates. Single crystals and clusters of distinguishable crystals are uncommon, but when found they are typically acicular to prismatic. Frequently found as a pseudomorph after Azurite crystals, which are generally more tabular in shape.Check out more Malachite for sale here
Chrysocolla:
Cu2-xAlx(H2-xSi2O5)(OH)4 · nH2OThe name was first used by Theophrastus in 315 B.C. and comes from the Greek chrysos, meaning “gold,” and kolla, meaning “glue,” in allusion to the name of the material used to solder gold. André-Jean-François-Marie Brochant de Villiers revived the name in 1808. Chrysocolla forms in the oxidation zones of copper rich ore bodies.

nH2O Hydrated Silicon Dioxide.
Opal has been a popular gem for many centuries and has a very interesting structure. The name opal comes from the Sanskrit name for precious stone upala. Opal structure is not crystalline and considered a mineraloid. The chemistry of Opal is primarily SiO2 and varying amounts of water. The amount of water varies from 5 -10% and greater. This water can help geologists determine the temperature of the host rock at the time the opal formed.

MOOKAITE ROUGH ROCK SPECIMEN
An outstanding MOOKAITE ROUGH ROCK SPECIMEN with striking two tone mauve and white colouring with a splash of ochre yellow. A solid rock with outstanding contrast. My photos barely do it justice, it is rare to get a rock with these two colours and such sharp banding. This stunning stone is found in the Kennedy Ranges near Gascoyne Junction. About 100 miles inland from the coastal town of Carnarvon in Western Australia. About 600 miles north of the capital Perth.
